Canadian Rabbit Hopping Club

Amanda & Babbitty Rabbitty!

Babbitty Rabbitty came to me purely by accident. Rianna wanted to join the rabbit project in our 4-H club, so she needed a rabbit. Karey Welliver (of Napoleons Hutch) gave us 2 rabbits in November to offer to Rianna to use for her project. There was this little brown 6 week old ball of fluff and an 12 week old Smoked Pearl Lionhead. Rianna chose the Lionhead, leaving this little bunny. After much convincing, mostly my mom, I was told I could keep Babbitty. So on November 19th he had found his new home with the Greening family. Babbitty Rabbitty 2008

Babbitty is a bit of a spaz bunny. He doesn't have a very good attention span. So for the first few times of attempting hopping, he didn't get it right away. But now after maturing a little, he's getting the hang of it. After only 4 practices, he's already jumping 4 poles. When he can stay focused long enough, he can fly through the course. But if he happens to see someone sitting beside the course who looks like they might be fun to play with, he'd rather go visit them instead. He is quite the ham, and especially loves photographers who lay beside the course to take his photo. He just doesn't care much for flash photography.

This little guy has also turned out to be an ok show bunny as well, winning youth Best in Show at the E.A.R.S Wetaskiwin Rabbit and Cavy Show, February 17, 2008.

I'm proud of my new little Babbitty! Stay tuned for possibly some Baby Babbitty's... Babbitty Rabbitty 2008
